LC 0.5 Flight - July 4, 2004
"That's What I'm Talking About!" - LC-2, a larger, pre-passenger, craft on display. The 24 foot long craft was a centerpiece of the Frederick Fourth of July festivities setting just off the picnic area.
Steve Adams (kneeling), James Russell, and John Jamieson prepare the ignitor for launch. The plastic tub is filled with concrete to support the launch rail and back-filled with water for fire suppression.
The Right Stuff - Joe Latrell, James Russell, John Jamieson, and Steve Adams return to Launch Control after priming the rocket.
Waiting - LC-0.5 sits on the pad awaiting the completion of the Countdown. The launch site by the lake included a "recovery team" in a speedboat in case the rocket landed off course.
Packing It In - Sam Schaffer teaches Jeff Boyes how to coil ropes used to keep the LC-2 launch pad upright. The windy day in Frederick required mooring lines to keep the showpiece stable.
Heading Home - (back) Jeff Patterson, Brad Benson, Tracey Craft, Joe Latrell, Don Armes, Keri Dennis, and James Russell. (front) Sam Schaffer, T'Chris Gardner, Jeff Boyes, and John Jamieson
